Questions Regarding Your HealthCare Experience

Hello- I'm an Emergency Room Nurse that has worked in the field for the last 17 years. I have a Master's degree in nursing, I have taken the national exam and have passed a Certified Emergency Room Nurse. I'm Also a Captain in the United States Army practicing as a Nurse. I have had extensive experience in intensive care, home health care, and a variety of other settings. I have created this blog with the intent of discussing and advising patients on all things related to healthcare. IT IS NOT MY INTENT TO DIAGNOSE OR PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE. With that said I'm here to help advise, research, direct, and provide support for your healthcare concerns. Many times the healthcare experience can be hard understand and you may not know which way to turn. That is what this blog is for.

  1. Why would my local hospital's emergency room nurse tell me that the doctors nor nurses take phone calls, answer emergency questions,or allow you speak with personnel unless you come sit in the emergency room for hours before you'll be seen? And then she stated that they probably would'nt help you out anyway? My question was a simple "How do you counteract the withdrawal symptoms of Methadone discontinuence?"

  2. And who besides the CEO of the Kershaw County Medical Center could I complain to?
